Job Title: Secondary Learning Support Assistant
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School
Location: Grays, Thurrock
Duration: Long term until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £95.00 - £105.00 per day
Working Hours: 8:15am - 3:30pm
Active Recruitment is working with a fantastic mainstream Secondary school in Grays (RM17) who are currently seeking a strong Learning Support Assistant with experience in supporting Secondary aged pupils with ASD and challenging behaviour.
The school is well equipped to support pupils with a broad and inclusive curriculum as well as facilities. It is known for its positive culture and learning environment, where students are supported to be happy, safe, and stimulated throughout their learning day. You will be supporting children with Special Educational Needs (Autism, Emotional Behaviour Difficulties, Learning Difficulties) in small groups and one to one.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
1. Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
2. Liaising with the SENCO/Inclusion manager to deliver SEN provision
3. Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual need)
4. Helping to plan and organise learning activities for students being supported
5. Providing support for students' emotional and social development by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour
6. Assisting in the production of appropriate teaching materials
7. Contributing to the target setting and review process and supporting pupils in meeting specific targets of IEP.
