Job description Do you have a passion for submarines? Come and join us in the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA). The SDA is collaborating with two commercial partners, BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce, to form the Dreadnought Alliance. This partnership aims to leverage the combined expertise of these organisations to deliver four submarines for the Dreadnought Programme, with an estimated whole life cost of £31 billion. The first submarine is expected to be ready for patrol in the early 2030s. We are excited to offer a career opportunity as a Supply Chain Manager within the Dreadnought Supply and Support Team (DSST). The DSST is tasked with delivering Government Furnished Assets (GFA), which include equipment, information, and resources, into the Dreadnought Design and Build Programme. Additionally, the team manages the transition of the Dreadnought submarines into the Royal Navy, with a particular focus on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The GFA Asset Management Team plays a crucial part in the receipt and handover of GFE to the Dreadnought Programme and is the onsite presence for logistics collaboration and delivery issue resolution. The team is also accountable for all MOD supplied equipment verification activities prescribed by the wider MoD organisation. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to develop their skills in roles that primarily involve transactional activities, working under guidance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. While there are currently no line management duties associated with this role, this may change in the future. You will be based at the BAE Barrow site. On-site attendance is required for 3 days per week and will involve working in both office and warehouse environments. There will be occasional requirements for UK travel to other SDA sites, suppliers, and the Head Office at Abbey Wood, near Bristol. They may involve overnight stays, for which costs and sustenance will be covered. What youll be doing Physically handling and processing deliveries in a timely and accurate manner. Updating and maintaining item data records accurately on Logistics Information Systems to ensure process compliance and operational efficiency. Monitoring delivery performance and tracking any outstanding issues until resolved. Varying involvement in GFE activities relating to receipt, inventory verification, ,storage and maintenance activities. Supporting development of management information. Always Complying with appropriate policy and safety requirements. Escalating any complex issues to senior colleagues and being proactive in suggesting/implementing areas for improvement. Person specification To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria : Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Evidence of customer focus and stakeholder engagement experience, internal and external at all levels. Experience in handling, interpreting, and reporting on data.
