About us
The Community Safety & Resilience Team (CS&RT) is a small team responsible for responding to reports of youth and neighbourhood Anti-social Behaviour (ASB). You will be working with the Community Safety Officer who deals with adult related ASB in the Community and will be managed by a Senior Officer.
The role
The youth ASB role will monitor and co-ordinate the Youth ASB response across the Borough, identifying trends and shaping proactive responses to support early intervention and prevention of youth ASB.
Your workload will be interesting, varied, demanding and at some points, pressured and challenging. You will issue parent alert letters, arrange, and implement ASB discussions and ASB contracts for young people in a variety of settings, applying enforcement tools and processes appropriately.
You will attend daily contextual safeguarding meetings and coordinate diversion offers. As a lead professional, you will arrange the provision of dedicated and suitable youth offers at the earliest point possible. You will ensure all council processes and pathways around a young person are adhered to by agencies.
You will work closely with Cheshire Police, contextualized safeguarding, youth outreach, schools, and other services involved with young people representing the service.
What's needed?
You will be confident with excellent communication skills both written and verbal which will need to be understood by a broad audience including professionals, external partners, young people, and their families.
The role manages sensitive information therefore you will need to fully appreciate the importance of confidentiality, and you will be required to have Police security checks to access certain levels of information. You will understand safeguarding and the needs of young people.
You will have excellent organisational skills, be methodical in producing quality pieces of written work. Good IT skills are needed, particularly for developing and maintaining spreadsheets and the use of information management systems for recording and reporting.
The role requires you to work on your own initiative and as part of a team assisting with supporting the other Community Safety role as demand requires.
This post is designated as a Casual car user and applicants must be able to drive and have access to transport when needed.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential for the post.
