A Mental Health School just outside of Oxford are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work with vulnerable students between 4 and 18 with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to give you experience working with vulnerable young people – perfect for anyone hoping of becoming a child counsellor in the future.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students with special educational needs (SEN) and a range of social, emotional and mental health challenges. Some of the children have suffered adverse childhood experienced, and therefore require a Learning Support Assistant who can identify and cater to their needs, and provide them with the support they so desperately need. You will help follow a number of therapeutic and restorative practices to help engage the students.
You will be instrumental in providing consistency and equipping the children and young people with the tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered and believe that they will succeed in life. This is ideal for Psychology, Sociology, Counselling or Criminology graduates as this role will give you excellent practical experience working with SEN students in a relevant field before you take your next step.
