Valu-Trac (VT) was established in 1985. It provides accounting and administrative services to the UK fund industry for over 150 funds and has assets under administration of over £16.8 billion as at 31st December 2024.
The Product Governance Team supports investment managers to ensure their investment funds are efficiently operated in line with all regulatory and legal requirements.
The role
The Fund Product Delivery Manager will report to the Head of Product Governance.
The Product Governance team is a key component of the core ACD, supporting a business that is growing rapidly and adapting to fast-changing regulatory and industry conditions. The main day-to-day responsibilities support our fund change initiatives such as new launches, prospectus amendments, and fund mergers/closures. There will be a significant amount of investment manager-facing contact to work on fund initiatives and project support across the wider business.
This role can either be hybrid from our head office at Orton or our Aberdeen hub, or remote based elsewhere in Scotland to facilitate team catch-ups and periodic visits to Orton.
Key responsibilities:
1. Management of the fund change process and product lifecycle; from idea creation to FCA submission and delivery to launch/change completion. Working with internal and external stakeholders; the regulator, depositary, and legal.
2. Coordinate interdepartmental analysis and use output to prepare detailed, accurate proposals for the Executive Committee and Board members’ approval.
3. Facilitate fee increases, capture periodic updates, and ensure prospectuses are current.
4. Ensure products and services have appropriate target markets and are designed to meet client needs and objectives.
5. Input into the development of Product Governance policies, processes, and controls.
6. Contribute to continuous process improvement.
7. Represent Product Governance in business initiatives and projects across the business, supporting Valu-Trac’s growth and regulatory compliance.
8. Advocate for investors, mindful of vulnerable investors.
9. Ensure new regulation is implemented effectively across our Funds.
The successful candidate will have:
Required
1. Great attention to detail.
2. Experience in a senior product role.
3. Strong communication skills with an ability to manage expectations.
4. Ability to manage high volumes of work, complex tasks, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
5. Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and industry in relation to authorised funds, in particular the COLL, PROD, and COBS.
6. Experience with collating business plans and proposals, and presenting these to diverse audiences, from internal technical specialists to the ‘layperson’.
7. Experience within the wider UK financial services industry and knowledge of, for example, platform distribution models and the IFA market.
