G3 Systems are currently looking for a Managing Surveyor to join the International Construction team at G3 Head Office in Dorset, to work on an exciting project currently live in Africa. Successful candidates must have past experience in NEC4 contracts, and be able to utilised Microsoft Project to an excellent standard. Due to this position requiring SC Clearance, we can only accept candidates that have been a UK resident a minimum of 5 years. SALARY: £55,000 - £65,000 (gross) per annum, dependant on experience BENEFITS: Private health insurance Life cover Wellness app and rewards scheme Referral bonus Company Pension Scheme Responsibilities: Contract and Project Management Responsible for accurate reporting and management of commercial results of the NEC4 contract across all levels of the profitability pillar, with submissions made to relevant timescales. Carefully examine and ensure full understanding of contract documents for all contracts under their control Assist in the creation of project execution plans. Ensure understanding and adherence to all contract obligations by stakeholders in line with project execution plan. Quantities and cost management Manage the Preparation of monthly, interim and final valuations, applications for payment, reconciliations of valuations and costs, and certification of amounts for contract, sub-contractors, specialists and suppliers. Providing the necessary information to enable an accurate and regular review of cash flow and position on contracts to be maintained. Recovery of all monies to which the Company is entitled in return for all work undertaken. Prepare detailed projected financial outcomes and valuation / cost reconciliations for contract control meetings. Prepare, submit and agree interim and final payments and accounts for sub-contractors, suppliers and specialists. Establish Cost coding/allocation for each project and ensure compliance. Safeguard all monies, property, documents and confidential information belonging to the Company, clients or personnel. Conduct correspondence and safeguard the interests of the Company when so doing and correctly record its views. Provide direction, support and instruction to direct reports, promoting continual improvement and responsibility. Supplier Management In conjunction with the Procurement/Commercial Manager, placing of supplier agreements and sub-contracts on work under their control, where required. Ensure that supplier agreements & sub-contracts are placed in good time to suit the contract program and in accordance with Company procedure. Sub-contract Management Monitor and review the performance of sub-contractors, at regular intervals and on contract completion or at any time that a sub-contractor’s performance is problematic and report this information to Procurement Manager. Carefully record all details involving contractual delays (regardless of causing party i.e. Client, design information, sub-contractors and suppliers, and any other means) and ensure the company's interest are fully protected by contractual compliance, correspondence and by any other means. Advise senior management of all issues which may have an impact on the performance of the Company, whether commercial, operational or otherwise. Communication and Relationships Represent the Company's interest at meetings held relating to the work under their control. In conjunction with the Contracts Manager ensure that all instructions received from client’s representatives are acted upon and all contract obligations are adhered to. Provide strong communication systems in line with NEC4 reporting requirements to ensure contract adherence and development of strong Contractor/Client relations. Effectively liaising with other departments to provide information to improve the service provided and received by the Commercial / Financial Departments. Carry out international visits where required. Manage and maintain a high level of morale among direct reports with a Quantity surveyor team. Qualifications Required: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying/Engineering (or similar field) to support your competency in the role. Introduction to the NEC 4 ECC (Or Any NEC4 Accreditation, or relevant NEC4 extension training) Skills / Experience Required: Sound knowledge of NEC construction contracts Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a NEC4 environment. Strong commercial background with a blend of both procurement and contracts management experience Strong and competent user of Microsoft Project – programme creation, quotation and pricing function user. Background in construction projects, particularly in managing existing assets and improvements. Experience in managing multiple simultaneous infrastructure projects, working to tight deadlines and high stakeholder expectations Excellent stakeholder management and strategic development capabilities. Experience of managing a team of quantity surveyors Excellent IT skills. Desired but not essential: Experience with Public Sector frameworks and OJEU is also useful but not essential Experience in either public or private sector large-scale infrastructure environments
