Chef De Partie Rate of Pay: £12.97 per hour Working Hours:40hours per week Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days (every 3rd weekend off) Contract Type: Term Time Only All Bank and Public Holidays off with flexible working arrangements Staff workplace meals provided Location: Chethams School of Music, Long Millgate, Manchester, M31 SB The Role: As a Chef de Partie, you will be an integral part of our kitchen brigade, reporting directly to the Sous Chef. You will assist in the preparation of food to ensure the prompt and efficient delivery of service to the company’s and clients standards whilst maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to comply with company procedures. Key Responsibilities: Our ethos is “Fresh Food from Scratch” so it is imperative to prepare and present food to the notified standard, ensuring the standard of “fresh food from Scratch” is followed. Prepare food meticulously, considering special dietary needs, allergens, and shelf life. Follow all food safety, health, and safety policies, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all work areas and surfaces, especially at the end of shifts. Provide quick, polite, and efficient service to customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Replenish food and equipment to support an efficient and seamless service experience. Clear and clean work areas promptly following service periods. Complete required administrative tasks, including tracking food temperatures and managing cleaning schedules. Foster friendly working relationships and effective communication with colleagues, while reporting issues to management promptly. Participate in school events, assist with function catering, and respond to management requests or emergencies as needed. What We’re Looking For: Must have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients Must have expertise on cooking on a large scale, anywhere between 100 – 1300 students. Have experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting. Have previous staff supervision experience or line management experience. .Be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy Kitchen environment. Be professional, leading by example and having a positive outlook is key. Hold basic food handling skills certification: NVQ Level 2 Level 2 Food safety Certificate A minimum of 1 years of experience in hands on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health and Safety will be given.
