Principal Mechanical Engineer - Multi-disciplinary Water Team
Location: England (Hybrid role, based at one of their UK offices)

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer for one of our key clients to join their multi-disciplinary water team. This reputable consultancy firm specialises in design and engineering services across various sectors, including aviation, defence, and public infrastructure. Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Project Manager/Water Sector Director to clarify the project brief.
* Undertaking significant elements of the detailed design and the checking of outputs as directed (producing technical outputs such as design specifications, sizing and designing pumping systems & aeration systems, hydraulic calculations, and production of construction drawings)
* Production of procurement specifications for mechanical equipment.
* Provide engineering input design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
* Project managing third party designs and providing design assistance to installation and commissioning teams ensuring the Clients' Technical Requirements are met throughout the design.
* Business development- assisting the preparation of statements, expression of tenders and building relationships with both new and existing clients.
Requirements
* Experience working in wastewater infrastructure across the UK.
* In depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical wastewater treatment works processes and equipment.
* Experienced in coaching and mentoring with excellent communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred
* Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution.
* Excellent knowledge of industry design software packages
