An esteemed law firm with over 150 years of experience in the City of London is seeking a Housing Management & Property to join their dynamic team.
Recognised for excellence across various legal sectors, including social housing, this medium-sized niche firm provides exceptional services to a diverse client base, including Registered Providers and private developers.
Housing Management and Property Litigation Solicitor - Salary £125,000 Depending on Experience
The Housing Management & Property Litigation team is dedicated to supporting Registered Providers (RPs), local authorities, and private landlords across England and Wales. This committed team believes that effective housing management is essential for success in the social housing sector.
Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer with 5 years PQE or more to manage a varied caseload that includes:
* Injunctions and Possession Claims: Represent clients in urgent legal matters
* Disrepair and Service Charge Disputes: Handle claims related to property conditions and financial disputes
* First-tier Tribunal (FTT) Cases: Navigate hearings and provide expert legal guidance
* Non-Contentious Matters: Offer policy advice and compliance support
While experience in all areas listed is not required, familiarity with housing management and a genuine passion for social housing law will be highly regarded.
Experience advising housing or care providers on compliance with the Equality Act 2010, CQC Regulations, housing benefit determinations, and adult safeguarding issues would also be advantageous.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
* Efficiently manage a diverse caseload, ensuring high standards of client service
* Support partners on complex matters while maintaining an independent portfolio
* Directly interact with clients, manage expectations, and meet deadlines
* Assist in supervising and mentoring junior staff members
* Effectively handle multiple deadlines across a variety of cases
* Engage in marketing and business development initiatives focused on client needs
* Prepare and deliver training sessions to clients as required
Essential Skills:
* A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in housing and/or leasehold management and/or property litigation
* Proven ability to manage your own files and caseload effectively
* Salary up to £120,000 dependent on experience
* Proficiency in IT applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet tools
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
* Capability to manage caseloads with appropriate supervision relative to qualification level
* Demonstrated commercial awareness and proactive approach
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear and concise information
* Strong attention to detail, resilience, and a determination to achieve positive outcomes
