About the team
The Pricing Analytics team has a unique identity as a team of skilled analytical specialists; we work directly with our Commercial function as they look to continuously improve the offering we provide to our customers. This team drives continuous improvements by deep diving into the drivers of our market competitiveness and our annual insurance product offering to put forward actionable recommendations that through working directly with our insurance partners leads to measurable business value.
The Pricing Analytics team also works with our outward facing Insight function to provide our expertise to our insurance partners. We’ve been delivering market-leading data services on behalf of Confused.com since its inception in 2012. Our analytical expertise assists insurance partners from across the UK and beyond to make the best decisions for their business. Our success is creating new opportunities for innovative and talented industry professionals to join us at a pivotal point in our development.
About the role
We’re looking for a Lead Data Insight Analyst to utilise their extensive knowledge and experience, to initiate and deliver a variety of analytical projects to drive positive change for Confused.com and its customers. As a Lead Analyst, you will drive effective data driven decision making, you will also guide and support your fellow Analysts, pushing boundaries and building on your knowledge to achieve positive outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Data Insight Analyst or an existing Lead Data Insight Analyst to take all their experience to the next level in their career.
What you'll be doing:
* Lead and taking ownership of the analytics roadmap for panel optimisation
* Collaborating with colleagues from across the business to drive change through data informed decisions, securing buy-in from senior leaders to deliver against key objectives
* Investigating all available sources of information to recommend changes to optimise our insurance panel across multiple products
* Using analytical and data science techniques in order to make predictions based on our data in order to make recommendations to improve the business and optimise strategic decision-making.
* Testing and reporting on the effectiveness of panel optimisation changes
* Creating compelling, actionable and high-value bespoke analysis through data mining, data analysis, data visualisation techniques & storytelling
* Providing targeted analytical insight to our insurance partners, including evaluating key aspects of our partner’s’ performance, such as conversion, ancillary take-up, brand awareness and price rate analysis
* Providing advice and guidance to the team

What we're looking for
* Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies, aligning analytical efforts with business objectives
* Ability to understand, translate, and map business and product objectives into actionable analytical projects.
* Proven ability to drive innovation through data and analytics
* Extensive experience working with data, ideally in the Insurance or wider financial services sector
* Advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
* Proficiency in using data visualisation tools (Tableau or PowerBI) to create compelling dashboards
* Strong command of SQL and/or Python / R for complex data manipulation and analysis.
* Strong presentation skills, with a talent for storytelling through data.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others
* Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior analysts
* Experience or understanding of insurance pricing methods and portfolio management (or similar) would be advantageous but is not essential
