You’ll take up this crucial role as a Process Technician to join our team that keeps the water flowing for millions of customers every day. You’ll use your skills, know-how, and attention to detail, along with a dependable approach, to operate and maintain our production sites, reservoirs, and pumping stations. You’ll manage water level and flow within our reservoirs and pumping stations to ensure we provide a continuous water supply to the communities we serve.
Experience in water treatment processes would be useful but isn’t essential. Ideally, you’ll have experience in process operations or an electrical/mechanical engineering background.
You’ll operate, maintain, and manage our water production sites by monitoring, optimizing, and continuously improving water treatment processes. Your attention to detail means that data will be correctly recorded and work management systems updated accurately.
It’s crucial that you’re an agile team player and confident working alone. We provide a company van, as this role involves traveling across the supply area to attend different sites. Working hours are 37 hours per week (7.00 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday). After your initial training, you’ll be required to participate in a 1 in 6 standby rota to respond to incidents out of hours and at weekends. In return, we pay a standby allowance (c. £2,300 per annum) plus overtime rates.

You'll be responsible for:
* Operating, monitoring, controlling, checking, and maintenance of water treatment process at water production sites.
* Controlling, monitoring, and managing the water treatment processes.
* Participating in a standby rota to provide out of hours support to the operational area.
* Liaising and working with contractors while they undertake works on sites of your responsibility.
* Completing all necessary administration associated with reactive and planned maintenance work.
* Carrying out General Site Duties at your sites.
* Monitoring and maintaining security of production site.
* Issuing Permits to Work where required.
* Assisting with capital works as and when required.
* Driving Company vehicles as required.
* Adhering to all H&S legislation, Company policies, and Production “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOP).
You'll need:
* Experience in water treatment processes or a background in process operations.
* Water industry qualifications are advantageous.
* Physically fit for working in confined spaces.
* A clean driver’s licence.
* Confident using IT and computers.
It will be a bonus if you have:
* An apprenticeship, City and Guilds, HNC or holding a relevant Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification.
