We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer to join our team in creating safe and supportive school environments for at-risk youth. This role is vital in implementing prevention strategies that reduce the likelihood of youth involvement in the justice system. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and community partners to deliver tailored programs that address the underlying factors contributing to delinquency and promote positive behaviors. You will play a critical role in fostering relationships with students, empowering them to make positive life choices, and helping to cultivate a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience within the school community. As a School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer, you will also collaborate on initiatives that support the social and emotional well-being of students, providing them with the tools and resources they need to thrive both academically and personally. Responsibilities
Develop and implement youth justice prevention programs in schools.
Collaborate with school staff to identify at-risk students and provide appropriate support.
Conduct educational workshops for students and parents on youth justice and prevention strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance support services.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
Provide one-on-one mentorship to students, focusing on personal development and decision-making skills.
Advocate for students' needs within the school and community, ensuring access to resources and support.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
Experience working with youth, preferably in an educational or community setting.
Strong understanding of youth development principles and the youth justice system.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and staff.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging educational programs and workshops.
Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £17.04
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
