FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Gates Corporation is an industry leading manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions. The company has facilities around the world serving the automotive, industrial and Oil & Gas sectors. This position is part of the Sales & Marketing team, based in Cramlington Global Centre for Hose Manufacturing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Working full-time from our Cramlington facility, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing efficient and accurate end-to-end technical support and commercial relationship management to key accounts, project contracts, and related stakeholders. The role ensures alignment of customer requirements with internal objectives, supports the sales team, and leads development/production project teams using Gates' quality processes.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide expert product knowledge and technical support to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
* Advise customers on tailored solutions, collaborate on pricing, and identify opportunities for additional equipment.
* Prepare and review quotes, bids, proposals, and cost sheets.
* Deliver training, troubleshoot issues, and manage customer complaints in coordination with Key Account Managers (KAMs).
* Oversee product availability, packaging improvements, and specialty projects.
* Drive continuous improvement by enhancing tools and processes for standardization.
* Respond promptly to inquiries and liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve technical and strategic objectives.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and customer contract requirements.
ABOUT YOU
Required Experience:
* Degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Industrial, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience working with similar products within the Oil & Gas industry
Required Skills:
* Strong understanding of hose assembly processes and customer fulfillment/job planning.
* Experience in CNC machining, project management, and ERP systems (data entry, export, and reporting).
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with excellent communication and customer service skills.
