Transport Lead Cheshire East Council's Education Travel Policies team is responsible for applying school transport policies, assessing children and young people with SEND for home-to-school travel assistance eligibility as well as children and young people who have been permanently suspended from school or for whom we are the corporate parent. The majority are attending mainstream schools within the borough however, more than a quarter of these are children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) who may require specialist transport and/or a trained passenger assistant to help them access school/college each day. This is particularly relevant for some of our Adult Learners who are in receipt of Post-16 discretionary travel assistance. We are seeking someone, to join the team as a Transport Lead for 6 months, who can apply policies, make informed and documented decisions, is able to challenge appropriately, is cost conscious and who is creative in their approach to problem solving.
