CAPU Search is proud to partner with a medical device company in South Wales that is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead and oversee its engineering operations. This role is perfect for someone passionate about managing engineering teams and driving new product development in a highly regulated sector. You will be responsible for ensuring their products meet high standards of quality, compliance, and performance while fostering innovation and continuous improvement. Title: Engineering Manager Location: South Wales. Can do Friday from home Salary: £70,000 (/-) negotiable Key Milestones: Launched a new device with updated aesthetics and improved software functionality this year. Planning a new system development for next year Working on a range of projects informed by market intelligence. Preparing for additional clinical trials and aiming for MDSAP certification. Expanded into 5 new international territories this year, with plans for continued expansion in the coming years. Key Responsibilities: Ensure efficient and compliant engineering operations. Update the existing product portfolio to meet new standards and market requirements. Drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and sustainability. Lead new product development initiatives, managing internal and external resources. Manage and expand the company’s intellectual property portfolio. Provide technical and compliance support to internal teams and external partners. Oversee document and change management processes related to engineering. Skills & Attributes: Degree in Electronics, Software, Mechanical, or Medical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years' experience leading an engineering department. Strong knowledge of medical device approvals and regulatory affairs. Proven experience in new product design and introduction. Ability to review and approve engineering reports, drawings, and schematics. Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SolidWorks. Strong communication, presentation, and people management skills. A motivated self-starter with strong decision-making and organizational skills. Working Hours: Standard hours are 08:00–16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00–13:00 on Fridays, with flexibility required during peak demands. Travel Requirements: Occasional UK and international travel will be required, and the candidate must have a valid driving license and passport.
