* Actuarial Apprentice (York and Bristol) : your number skills will be put to immediate use, analysing data, developing models and helping to prepare reports that inform business-critical decisions. Your work will directly impact our insurance, pensions, and investment strategies. This hands-on experience will enhance your technical skills and give you a deep understanding of the financial industry. All while you soak up the experiences of our qualified and trainee actuaries.
You’ll spend 80% of your time learning the ins-and-outs of the business and 20% studying towards your Level 4 Actuarial Technician qualification, which typically takes two years to complete, to become a successful Actuarial Advisor.
Beyond your qualification, the opportunities to advance go on and on. You can transition onto the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) exams, progressing towards a fully qualified Actuary. What we’re looking for
To join us on this apprenticeship, you’ll need (or be on track to achieve) at least three A-Levels at grades B, C, C or above (in England) or four Highers at grades B, B, B, C or above (in Scotland), including Maths at grade B or above. Or have an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
You will also need at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.
Alongside that, we’re looking for people who have a genuine interest in actuarial work, are confident communicators, have good analytical and problem-solving skills, and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve results.
And you’ll:
* have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025.
* be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
* be available for full time work from September 2025 when all our apprentice roles start.
