MJS Group are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and driven Finance Manager to join our team based in Exeter. The Finance Manager will be commercially aware, responsible for financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting for the company's projects and operations. They will also oversee financial risk management, cash flow management, and overall responsibility for the accounts department.
We have been in the construction business since 1976 and grown to become the most established multi trade contracting business in the South West working for local developers and national house builders.

Change of Management structure.
Size & structure of accounts team:
• Reporting to MD / Owner
• Overseeing Material Buyer
• Overseeing Accounts / Payroll
IT systems used:
Evolution M – specific to construction industry, Excel, Outlook and Word.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts.
2. Calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments.
3. Preparation of monthly/quarterly VAT returns.
4. Processing of all company invoices ensuring correct authorisation and coding.
5. Checking, coding and processing of company expense claims.
6. Reconciliation of supplier statements.
7. Processing of payment runs and supplier payments, including debt chasing.
8. Bank reconciliations.
9. Arranging annual insurance renewal.
10. Converse with external HR department.
Essential qualifications or skills:
1. Be qualified to AAT or equivalent.
2. Previous experience of working in a similar position and desire to grow within the company.
3. Have strong attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (HR management).
5. Have Advanced Excel / Outlook Skills.
Desirable qualifications or skills:
1. Knowledge of the construction industry.
Additional requirements:
1. Able to function effectively and efficiently within a small team environment.
2. Understanding of group holding.
3. Multi ‘business’ set up within one limited company.
Remuneration:
Annual Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum with bonus.
Hours:
9am – 5pm (flexi).
