Please note: This is a part time vacancy, working 18.5 hours per week.
The Probation Service works with over 30,000 people on probation each year, supporting their rehabilitation while protecting the public. It is a challenging but rewarding role that offers variety, training, and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
Approved Premises (AP) are residential units for individuals released on licence who require a high level of supervision. As a Probation Services Officer (PSO), you will engage with residents in purposeful activities to assist their rehabilitation.
The PSO working pattern will include some evenings and weekends, with unsocial hours allowances applicable.
The job holder will undertake a full range of work with offenders before and after sentencing, including assessment, sentence implementation, offender management, and producing reports.
The job holder will provide case management support to a full range of offenders, utilizing service procedures and practice directions.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Assess and manage risks posed by offenders to protect victims and the public.
* Liaise with criminal courts, justice agencies, and partner agencies.
* Supervise offenders subject to community sentences and during custodial sentences.
* Work with agencies to prevent crime and meet the needs of victims and probationers.

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties:
* Manage offender tasks with low or medium risk individuals and support high-risk cases.
* Contribute to the delivery of Risk Management plans.
* Maintain records and documentation using computer systems.
* Ensure effective referrals and communication with management and service providers.
* Conduct visits as required.
* Work in court settings and prepare reports.
* Provide cover within teams as needed.
* Deliver and co-lead accredited programmes.
* Conduct mandatory drug and alcohol tests.
* Carry out safeguarding duties as per statutory responsibilities.
* Model pro-social behaviour and challenge anti-social behaviour.
* Align work with the aims and values of PS and HMPPS.

Technical Requirements:
