One of the largest health Boards in South Wales is looking for a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including accident and emergency (A&E), maternity, pediatrics, surgery, and outpatient services. It is known for its comprehensive care in specialties such as cardiology, oncology, and orthopedics.

* Shift Type: Ad hoc 37.5hrs
Job Description:
The post holder will be based in the Occupational Therapy service, Mental Health, delivering evidence-based, recovery-focused Occupational Therapy specialist assessment and interventions to a defined caseload across the Assessment ward, treatment wards, and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
MOHO is the model of practice and all Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions will be evidence-based, and evaluated using recognised outcome measures.
Responsibilities:
* Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders, and agencies.
* Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants.
* Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements.
* Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff.
* Responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.
Skills:
* An Occupational Therapy profession qualification.
* Extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience with children and young people who have complex needs.
* Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches.
* Demonstrated evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills.
* Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
* Knowledge of how to work with neurodiverse individuals.
