Are you someone who brings patience, empathy, and a caring approach to your work? Would you like to be in a role where your support helps others live with dignity, independence, and comfort?
We’re looking for a Relief Care Worker to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you’ll work alongside supportive colleagues from a range of backgrounds and professions, all committed to delivering high-quality care.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
1. Support with personal and intimate care, always with kindness and respect
2. Assist individuals with aids and equipment to help them live as independently as possible
3. Work alongside health professionals to ensure every person’s needs are met
4. Encourage mental and physical activity – from quiet moments to engaging activities
5. Help maintain a clean, safe, and personalised living space
6. Support nutritional needs and respond calmly to emergencies when they arise
No two days are the same – but every shift brings the opportunity to have a real impact.
What We’re Looking For:
We welcome people from all walks of life. You don’t need previous care experience – what matters most is a caring nature, a reliable approach, and a willingness to learn.
You’ll ideally hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, or be willing to work towards this qualification. Basic digital skills are important too, as you’ll use our e-learning system for training and development.
As a member of the team, you’ll be respectful of our Christian ethos and open to supporting people of all faiths or none. You’ll help enable those who wish to attend worship or engage in spiritual practices of their choice.
You’ll also need to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) – or be willing to join both before you begin.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
