About the business unit
The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonalds regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors: Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation, and Water.
Overview of role
Climate change is among the biggest threats facing humanity. Mott MacDonald is taking a position of leadership – using our knowledge, ingenuity, and influence to help the world successfully transition to a low carbon future. Our Net Zero Carbon Advisory Team is growing rapidly, and we are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team of energy performance and carbon management professionals.
Your role will typically include:
* Supporting the development of technical solutions and energy strategies to help the Buildings and Infrastructure sector meet governmental and local ‘net zero carbon’ targets.
* Carrying out energy audits of a range of sites in the public and private sector.
* Developing energy reports for clients, summarising findings of energy audits and site surveys.
* Understanding and communicating ‘net zero carbon’ policies to clients.
* Carrying out energy modelling analysis and energy audits for new and existing building projects.
* Interfacing net zero carbon advisory with wider buildings and infrastructure outcome needs.
* Carrying out due diligence of third-party low carbon and net zero carbon project reports.
* Ensuring the production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
* Supporting business development activities.
* Contributing to winning new work at a senior level.
We’re looking for you to demonstrate the skills, qualifications, and experience listed below:
* Building energy performance analysis
* Energy auditing and reporting
* Energy Performance Contracting
* Energy modelling (e.g., IES, TAS, Sefaira)
* Public sector energy and carbon management
* Qualified in a related technical subject (Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree)
* Master’s degree in a related subject
* Chartered or approaching chartered status with a relevant professional body
* Membership of a related professional body
* Ability to work in diverse multidisciplinary teams
* Sound knowledge and use of MS Office suite of software
