The role
The Teacher Librarian is a suitably qualified teacher librarian or an experienced teacher with knowledge of children’s and young adults’ literature and information literacy skills who will work with staff to enhance student learning and reading programs for students. The Teacher Librarian supports and implements the vision of Haileybury Libraries through advocating and building effective library and information services and programs.
Responsibilities:
1. Running the Renaissance Accelerated Reading program for all Castlefield Year 7 and 8 students, liaising with the Middle School English department and other Teacher Librarians.
2. Collaborating with the Heads of Library, Teacher Librarians, and Head of Campus to develop, resource, and implement reading programs for students.
3. Growing a warm, welcoming, learner-centred library environment.
4. Promoting the library as a learning hub within the school.
