This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Senior HSE Advisor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
1. Act as the first point of contact for the H&S Advisors.
2. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved or require further support to the H&S / Discipline Leads.
3. Oversee the HSE advisors K.P.I.s and support HSE Area Lead within accident/investigations.
4. Conduct audits of MEH site activities and sub-contractor operations as well as facilitating meetings.
5. Record the findings of audit reports and inspections in line with the HSSE Management system requirements.
6. Build relationships with other Tier 1’s and the Principal Contractor.
7. Monitor the working practices of MEH employees and contractors regarding health and safety, environment, and welfare.
This role is full time and is based onsite at Hinkley Point C.
Essential experience of the Senior HSE Advisor:
1. NEBOSH general certificate/NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
2. H & S Diploma or working towards.
3. Strong construction background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
4. Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people.
5. Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
6. IT literate – familiar with Microsoft packages.
