The role
As a Supply Operations Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will manage a team of nine managers/leaders who have a total of sixty five employees reporting to them and you will ensure efficient running of the department.
Day-to-day, you will identify areas for improvement, and drive change to include culture change initiatives and improving efficiencies. You will also conduct appraisals, progress training requirements, deal with departmental absences and recruitment activities.
1. Identify and pursue potential commercial opportunities
2. Carry out monthly Contract monitoring and ensure authority accounts are managed correctly
3. Ensure departmental operating costs are managed within budget
4. Compile reports and statistics as requested by the Contract / Operations Managers
5. Provide assistance to Company bid teams and other Company visitors
6. Drive change through continually asking “why” and reviewing where best practice or process amendments can be implemented to add value for the customer and the contract.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington.
Essential experience of the Supply Operations Manager
7. Good written and verbal communication skills
8. IT literate to MS Office standard.
9. Driving licence (cat B minimum)
10. People management experience.
11. Management of change within an operational environment
Qualifications for the Supply Operations Manager
A Health & Safety qualification i.e., IOSH Managing Safely would be an advantage however; we value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
