Job Description A well-established and leading manufacturing company based in East Yorkshire is looking for a Assistant Buyer. Reporting in to the Procurement Manager this is a fixed term contract for 9 months to cover maternity and working Monday to Friday 37 hours In the Buyer role you will be responsible for: Purchasing materials on timed and at/below target cost Obtaining and negotiating prices Controlling costs and driving procurement spend Maintaining accurate procurement records Developing good relationships with internal customers and suppliers The ideal candidate for this Buyer role will have some relevant procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, although this is not essential. Experience from the modular build or construction sector would also be beneficial. You should have strong negotiation, IT and numeracy skills and ideally be familiar with procurement IT systems. The role would suit someone with experience of working in a fast-paced environment This role offers a salary up to £33, 000 with good benefits package including 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays. This is a full-time role working Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm and the business is commutable from Driffield, Scarborough, Hull, Malton, Beverley and surrounding areas.
