Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time, 37.5 hours, Band 7 Lead Nurse to work within the Community Team for Learning Disabilities (CTLD) providing services for adults with a learning disability across East Riding of Yorkshire. The team embraces the national context of 'Transforming Care' and the vision set out in "Building the right support" and the "National service model for commissioners of health and care services". The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Nursing, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Clinical Psychology and Physiotherapy. The CTLD provide interventions and support to individuals with complex health needs and their families and carer's by providing person centred care plans in order to optimise health outcomes and improve quality of life. The successful post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the East Riding Nursing Team. They will work closely with the other professional leads and the CTLD Team Leader. The post holder will hold a RNLD or RNMH qualification Main duties of the job The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be able to apply research into practice and show flexibility in changing and challenging situations. They must demonstrate a range of leadership qualities in order to provide day to day management of complex and sometimes crisis situations. As a Band 7 Nurse within the Learning Disability service you may also on occasion be asked to provide support and cover to other parts of the service during periods of increased clinical pressures. The post holder will need to be able to commute the large geographical area in a timely manner.
