We’re looking for a Technical Team Manager to join our Roofing team
Location: Preston – Partial Hybrid
At Sika we specialise in all four of the major flat roofing technologies (Single Ply Membranes, Liquid Applied Membranes, Reinforced Bituminous Membranes and Hot-Melt Structural Waterproofing).
The Technical team within our Roofing division comprises a group of roofing experts who create and distribute specifications, roof condition reports, technical documents and provide advice to our technical sales team, roofing contractors, architects and building surveyors.
Purpose of the Role
As one of the largest and longest – standing manufacturers of quality flat roofing products in the world, our specifications need to be of the highest quality for every project. As a support function to our team of Area Technical Managers, we create and manage the specifications they require daily. As part of our team, you would be responsible for managing and supporting the team whilst at the same time taking a hands-on and proactive role in the overall department output.

As a Technical Team Manager at Sika, you will be a key contributor to Sika’s Roofing Strategy by;
* Developing industry leading specifications for our clients.
* Ensuring that all key stakeholders experience world class customer experience and support on projects.

* Managing, coaching, and mentoring our team of Technical Services Advisors to ensure optimal performance and development opportunities are available to all.
This is a fantastic opportunity and could suit candidates from a range of disciplines e.g. those already working in a similar role at present or potentially someone with hands on Roofing experience. We are particularly keen to speak to those who already manage a technical team or are ready to take on a role in technical management. Full training on how to use our systems will be provided.

Qualifications
* The Ideal candidate would have a knowledge of the UK flat roofing market
* Preferably with an understanding of construction
* Ability to learn, adapt and enhance their skills and knowledge
* We are looking for someone who is conscientious, with an eye for detail and technically thinking in their approach.
* Computer literate (in main MS software packages)
* The ability to manage, coach and mentor team members
