As a Senior Technical Analyst, you will be joining a fast-paced and exciting Digital, Data and Technology team as part of the Architecture community. Supporting the team to modernise and transform the business, including supporting the delivery of business solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Are you someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interrogate reported information and challenge sources where inconsistencies are found? Do you have the ability and experience to undertake feasibility and analysis studies to provide requirements at the early stages of projects? Could you then take that forward to provide functional design authority to support the delivery output?

You will make and support decisions that will impact the allocation of resources, pull together estimates and options across multiple work packages in order to meet priority objectives and delivery time frames. Demonstrating excellent communication skills, influencing across multiple groups of people including customers, suppliers, and partners, you will form a deep understanding of wider customer and organisational needs. Participating in both internal and external activities in line with your specialism to keep your skills up to date. With a clear ability to rationalise complex technical information, you will transform this information, making it understandable for others to work with.
Engaging with stakeholders, you will facilitate and foster collaborative approaches, prioritise requirements and optimise resource utilisation, demonstrating a creative and innovative approach and advising on a number of standards, methods, tools, and applications, so that the optimum approaches, standards, and solutions are delivered to meet organisational objectives.

In this role, you are accountable for:
1. Fully engage and contribute to the delivery of projects, change, and continuous improvements within multidisciplinary scrum teams.
2. Support the department by analysing propositions and assessing a range of factors including horizon scanning for emerging technologies, approaches, trends, and strategies that would benefit the organisation.
3. Monitoring and developing a firm understanding of new and emerging tools, technologies, and products to assess potential value and identify opportunities to enhance capabilities, products, and services within the organisation.
4. Translating designs both logical and physical to support user-friendly processes and systems, and communication of this across business areas.
5. Conducting impact assessments of "as-is" and "to-be" processes for systems, tools, and technologies, identifying relevant risks and issues, and providing mitigating actions.
6. Undertake investigative technical systems analysis, facilitate scoping and priority setting of large or complex changes, providing options appraisals and recommendations.
7. Delivering value for money by cultivating and encouraging an awareness of cost, using clear simple examples of benefits and how to measure outcomes.
8. Identify and understand relevant legal and commercial terms, concepts, policies, and processes to deliver agreed outcomes.
9. Enabling the performance of others, by mentoring staff to encourage proactive development of skills and capabilities.
10. Contribute to recruitment and selection in line with organisational processes and participate in the implementation and delivery of initiatives to secure suitable resources.
11. Provide feedback to support and encourage individuals to develop thinking and independently work through issues, to reach solutions-based outcomes.
12. Keeping abreast of technological advancements and maintaining an excellent understanding of the use of technology in delivering business objectives.

16. Contribute to and prepare proposals for change including producing necessary estimates, mandates, and business cases within the DDaT directorate.
17. Monitoring budget spend and resource estimates against projects and change initiatives.
18. Identify opportunities, engaging and fostering relationships and partnership working within the organisation.
19. Develop collaborative working relationships across a range of parties including product managers, architects, and the wider delivery team.
20. Develop a deep understanding of how the services, activities, and strategies in the area work together to create value for the customer/end user.
21. Monitoring and reviewing the accuracy of activities including estimates and actuals to provide more accurate information.
22. Managing own workload and completing assigned tasks, to a high quality and within agreed timelines.
23. Delivering continuous improvements to enhance own areas; coordinating and delivery of work across multiple strands.
24. Preparing plans to feed into the delivery and management of projects and programmes.
25. Execute approaches, strategies, standards, practices, and policies, ensuring and monitoring the timely delivery of business objectives within budget.
26. Providing feedback on functional and non-functional requirements to ensure the overall needs of the business are met from an ICT perspective.
27. Participating in procurement processes for hardware and software.
