An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Specialist Lead Nurse / AHP to join the existing Northwest Ventilation Service leadership team within the Respiratory Division at WTWA.
We are looking for an exceptional leader who is experienced, innovative, and committed to excellence in all aspects of the role. You will be an experienced nurse/ AHP who has held previous leadership / management roles at Band 7. You will be a highly visible leader, who is able to evidence how you have positively influenced practice and patient care.
As Specialist Lead Nurse/ AHP you will ensure and maintain the delivery of safe high-quality standards of care to our patients whilst also supporting staff wellbeing and development in their workplace. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to command credibility. Supporting service development and enhancing patient experience will be an essential aspect of the role particularly in relation to setting up and maintaining AHP lead OPD clinics within the service.
The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, with strong leadership and people management skills. They must be able to demonstrate evidence-based practice and knowledge of the current healthcare agenda.
The ideal candidate should have experience of leadership / management at Band 7 level and evidence of ongoing professional development.

* Graduate Diploma / Degree as relevant Allied Health Professional/Nurse
* State Registered (HCPC/NMC)
* Post-graduate work relating to area of speciality
* Clear Evidence of CPD within Non Invasive Ventilation
* Substantial experience working at Band 7 level in specialist field
* Expertise in ventilation - NIV, weaning and Tracheostomy ventilation and management of patients
* MDT working
* Sound understanding of clinical governance and its implications for practice
Desirable
* Masters Degree (or willing to undertake within an agreed time frame)
* Advanced courses in area of ventilation
* Expertise in secretion clearance and cough augmentation management
* Quality improvement project experience
