Hours - Broadly 8am-5pm with a level of flexibility to start/finish times, dependant on business needs (working across a 9-day fortnight)

What will I be doing?
Working in coordination with our team of Senior Environmental Specialists, the role provides an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our business providing key environmental advice, guidance, and support to our production operations facilities.
The role ensures that not only our current operations comply with the environmental requirements placed on our business by our environmental permits, our Environmental Management System and our sustainability goals, but also that our future planned operations are not only compliant but represent the highest standard of environmental performance to help us progress and improve our environmental performance into the future.
Key Accountabilities:
* Assess, manage and minimise the environmental impacts of our operational facilities.
* Produce documentation in support of the Environmental Management System (EMS), as appropriate, assuring that legislation and other external requirements are incorporated into the company’s management arrangements.
* Support the evaluation of compliance processes, including but not limited to inspections, audits, and investigations.
* Analyse environmental company performance metrics. Implement activities for continuous improvement.
* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
* Periodically engage in the implementation of the EMS standards and processes, to test the suitability and operability of the EMS.
* Support the assessment of business impacts of new and forthcoming legislation and other external requirements.
* Confidently challenge activities and processes that fall short of the expected standard of environmental protection and sustainability.
* Maintain a proactive interface/relationship with all internal regulators/stakeholders.
* Liaise across the business, as required, to ensure a connected approach when engaging with both internal and external regulators/stakeholders.
* The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree level qualification in an environmental science or management based subject or vocational qualification (HND or equivalent) and/or commensurate practical experience.
* Member of or working towards membership of IEMA/CIWEM/CIWM/CIEEM (or other appropriate institute) is desirable.
* Understanding of current environmental management systems including ISO14001.
* Understanding of current environmental legislation, standards and guidance (including license conditions and environmental permits) relevant to role.
* Strong interpersonal/communication, report writing and presentation skills.
