About the role:
The team based in Wareham is formed of approximately 30 individuals including 14 Social Workers,
who take new safeguarding referrals for Dorset Children's Services.
The team take calls from professionals and others where there are safeguarding concerns in respect of children. They Progress referrals with multi-agency partners - including information sharing - and recommending next actions, including immediate safeguarding actions where necessary. They attend multi-agency meetings on a regular basis. Being a point of contact for the out of hours service, including for children who have extensive social care involvement. Using a social care database to log all conversations and decisions.
You will typically work a 4 day week over a 14 week rota including some overnight on call and weekend working
Requirements
Essential:
3 years post qualifying social work experience.
BA (or equivalent), DipSW
Experience of working in an assessment and/or MASH Team
Ability to work in office (Wareham) at least 2 days per week
Considerable experience of multi-agency working and decision making.
Working as part of a team.
analytical and reflective skills.Desirable:
Confidence in working autonomously.
Experience of MOSAIC database/system
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Knowledge of consultation based social work practice.
Experience of out of hours social work
