Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Children's Residential Youth Worker to work full time based in Wellingborough.
Salary: Up to £23,788 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with all young people of the home carrying out care plans to ensure their physical, emotional, and social well-being, feeding back relevant information to Keyworkers as appropriate.
2. Undertake assessments, admission, and discharge arrangements in accordance with departmental policies.
3. Provide services and counsel individually and/or in groups to facilitate implementation of care plans.
4. Maintain effective administration records including Reports, Reviews, Court Reports, Records of Appointments, Case Review Dates, Release Plans, and may include Petty Cash, Processing of invoices, and other records within the Home and Departmental Policies.
5. Pursue appropriate Staff Development and Training Programmes enabling the post holder to undertake their duties professionally and in accordance with Home/Departmental Policies, including attendance at Staff Meetings.
6. Ensure all work within the home is delivered within a therapeutic framework beneficial to the young people.
7. Supervise persons in the home on work placements and others undertaking Work Experience to maximize their learning potential.
8. Share in the normal domestic work and activities of the home to ensure its adequate functioning, creating a normal living environment for the young people.
9. Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager, dealing with day-to-day operations and referring unusual matters and emergencies to a senior member of staff.
10. Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people's behavioral, physical, social, and welfare needs.
11. Ensure reasonable care for health, safety, and welfare of yourself and others, complying with health and safety policies and procedures.
12. Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description.
Requirements:
1. Desirable to have the Level 3 Residential Child Care qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to complete in post.
2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. An understanding of the needs of looked after young people.
5. Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and statutory guidance.
6. An understanding of intervention strategies.
7. Enhanced DBS clearance.
