The Family Assessment Social Worker will play a critical role in Lincolnshire Council, providing essential support and expertise to assess and evaluate the needs of families requiring assistance. We are offering £35 per hour for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of families referred to the service, taking into consideration the unique circumstances and challenges they face.
2. Collaborate with families to develop comprehensive care plans that address identified needs and promote the well-being of children and adults involved.
3. Conduct home visits and interviews to gather accurate information about family dynamics, relationships, living conditions, and other relevant factors.
4. Work within legal frameworks and guidelines to ensure the safety and welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
5. Liaise with other professionals, such as medical practitioners, therapists, and educators, to gather input and ensure a holistic assessment approach.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress over time.
7. Attend case conferences, court hearings, and other relevant meetings as required.
8. Provide support, guidance, and practical assistance to families to help them implement care plans effectively.
9. Collaborate with colleagues and other agencies to ensure a coordinated and multi-disciplinary approach to family support.
Qualifications and Experience:
10. A recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
11. Proven experience in conducting family assessments, preferably within a local authority setting.
12. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and family welfare.
13. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse individuals and families.
14. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on thorough assessments and analysis.
15. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
16. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
