Salary Bracket:
£24,150 - £26,250 Full time
With the potential to increase basic salary by between £2,880 and £4,800 with additional sleeping in payments.

Accountable To

Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality care that meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of the children and young people in our care, in line with the Children’s Act 1989, National Minimum Standards, and Every Child Matters.
· Stay vigilant and proactive in child protection, familiarizing yourself with our safeguarding policy and reporting any concerns immediately to the Registered Manager.
· Create a nurturing environment where children and young people feel safe, secure, and free from harm.
· Build strong, positive relationships with young people, providing them with unconditional support and guidance.
· Encourage self-control and positive behaviour, offering constructive challenges to unacceptable conduct and rewarding pro-social actions.
· Ensure that each young person’s care plan is consistently followed and updated to reflect their evolving needs.
· Engage in the practical aspects of childcare, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the home environment.
· Act as a key worker or co-worker, ensuring that care plans are up-to-date and that young people’s needs are fully met. Serve as a role model, offering advice, guidance, and support as needed.
· Provide one-on-one support to help young people overcome past and present difficulties, offering emotional support during challenging times.
· Be ambitious for the young people, encouraging them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
· Support young people in their education and extracurricular activities, which may include classroom assistance when necessary.
· Maintain accurate records and provide written reports for planning meetings, reviews, or other relevant gatherings.
· Empower young people by involving them in decisions about their lives and futures, acting as their advocate in discussions where they are the focus.
· Help young people connect with their community, participate in off-site activities, and expand their social networks.
Team Collaboration
· Work collaboratively with your team, contributing to a shared vision for the home.
· Attend and actively participate in team meetings, offering constructive input.
· Support team development through open communication and feedback.
· Provide informal support to colleagues facing challenges, fostering a positive team environment.
· Stay aligned with childcare plans and policies, ensuring consistent support for all young people.
General Responsibilities
· Participate in young people’s meetings and contribute meaningfully to discussions.
· Drive company vehicles when required (for those with a valid driving license).
· Engage in ongoing training to stay current in your role and enhance your skills.
· Accurately maintain financial records as part of your duties.
· Uphold the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and your colleagues in line with our Health and Safety policies.
Special Conditions
This role requires flexibility, with shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as part of a rota. Additional sleep-ins may be required in emergency situations, for which extra compensation is provided.
· You may be asked to adjust your rota with reasonable notice to ensure service coverage, which may include additional emergency sleep-in duties.
· You are responsible for adhering to Health and Safety guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Registered Manager.
· Other duties, such as decorating or gardening, may be required to support the overall service delivery of the home.
· This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Any changes in your personal circumstances that may affect this must be reported to your line manager immediately.
