GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Totton. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that truly values inclusive education and child-centred support.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure pupils have the right support to access learning and make progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
* Implement and adapt individual education and behaviour support plans.
* Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, liaising with the class teacher and SENCO.
* Support classroom activities and ensure inclusive practice across all settings.
* Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary.
Job Requirements:
* A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable.
* A calm, flexible, and patient attitude with the ability to build rapport.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
