Duties / Responsibilities:
PRIMARY:
1. Documenting of, and notification to (where appropriate) the Technical Director and/or QA & Compliance Manager, of Nonconformities and customer complaints to ensure data is captured for analysis and any necessary corrective actions can be implemented. Expediting such actions and facilitating Root Cause Analysis as appropriate.
2. Data collection and trend analysis of finished goods punch list items, and Goods in Supplier errors. This is to include supplier correction actions and internal NCR’s.
3. To conduct internal QMS auditing as requested by the QA & Compliance Manager. (Training will be provided).
4. Updates of internal procedures and Work instructions etc. as guided by the Technical Director and/or QA & Compliance Manager.
5. Updating of internal and external literature, including but not limited to: IOMs, Certificates, Declarations of Conformity (EU & UK), Route cards, Product database, H&S docs and Data sheets.
6. Following the analysing of NCR’s, Root Causes and SCAR’s, identifying opportunities to improve processes and methods of manufactured components and finished goods. Maintain standard work instructions in relation to routing templates.
7. Identifying opportunities for ‘flexibility/de-skilling of operations and value engineering of products, working closely with management. Documentation/logging of opportunities, costing justifications for priority, and then make ready for tasking, change development, implementation and training support.
8. Support and promote the continuous improvement process and culture, along with undertaking ‘Special Improvement Projects’ as requested by top Management.
9. Provide advice to peer group on quality related matters and ensure agreed quality tasks and objectives are completed.
10. Liaising with the Drawing office, Production Supervisors and production staff as appropriate to discuss and resolve any issues arising regarding our products.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Knowledge / experience of the inspection of electrical/mechanical products within an Oil and Gas/Petro-chemical/Pharmaceutical environment.
2. Thorough understanding and use of standard measuring equipment.
3. An ability to read engineering drawings.
4. An understanding/knowledge of ATEX standards (preferred but not essential).
Key Interfaces:
1. QA & Compliance Manager: To attend meetings as requested to do so, and to assist as directed.
2. Engineers: Liaise with Engineering staff relating to issues arising from inspections and testing.
3. Production: Resolving any issues or technical queries to ensure production assembly is smooth and unhindered. Communicating with Design Office staff to get any issues resolved in a timely manner.
4. QC / QA: To provide training, guidance and assistance in allocation of resources as requested by Management.
