Job overview
Is your passion to provide excellent patient centred care? Are you career-minded with drive and enthusiasm? Do you enjoy playing a key role within the multidisciplinary team in an ever-advancing specialty? If you answer yes, then we're looking for you to join us at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Nurses to join our dynamic Dermatology Team working mainly from Royal Lancaster Infirmary, but with some requirements to work from Furness General Hospital.
This is a developing service, and we are searching for motivated and enthusiastic individuals. Ideally, you would have a background in Dermatology; however, we welcome applications from any interested candidates.
We are looking for Registered Nurses who deliver compassionate, professional, skilled, and effective person-centred, evidence-based nursing care by working within a multidisciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs-based care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Main duties of the job
We strive to achieve the best possible outcomes and experiences for our patients and for our staff, and we are seeking nurses with those same qualities to continue to deliver the great care that we strive to provide every day.
You will be based at RLI but will be required at times to travel across the bay. You will be trained to carry out Nurse Led Clinics such as Phototherapy, Patch testing, Photodynamic Therapy, and Dermajet. You will have the opportunity to develop and gain knowledge in this ever-changing specialty and will spend time with our Skin Cancer Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists. You will be involved in the development of the Dermatology service across the Morecambe Bay area, including Furness General Hospital.
There are opportunities to develop your confidence and your clinical skills in a supportive environment, to build and extend your existing managerial and clinical knowledge.
We are committed to the continuing professional development of our staff, and as part of our Dermatology Team, you will have many opportunities to develop.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase, and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
