Health and Safety Officer Location: Manchester Salary: £45,000 per annum Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with UK legislation and industry standards. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures. Provide expert advice and support on health and safety matters to the construction teams and management. Monitor and report on health and safety performance, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Deliver health and safety training and induction programs for new and existing staff. Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation, making recommendations for improvements where necessary. Collaborate with project managers to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution. Investigate incidents and accidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Requirements: Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or NVQ Level 5 in Health & Safety Management. Level 3 Certificate in Environmental Management. Proven experience in health and safety management within the construction industry. Excellent understanding of UK health and safety law and legislation, particularly in an engineering context. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels. Proficient in conducting risk assessments and safety audits. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently. NEBOSH or equivalent qualification would be an advantage. What We Offer: Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum.
