Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust paediatric team are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated paediatric nurses to work on both our acute inpatient unit, paediatric daycase unit and paediatric assessment unit. A rotation between all 3 areas is also available.
To be successful you will need to be friendly, kind, compassionate with a genuine desire and passion to help people.
Main duties of the job
Paediatric Unit
Band 5 Staff Nurses -
* Ward 21; 21 bedded unit which cares for medical, surgical and high dependency patients.
* Our Paediatric Assessment Unit is housed in purpose built Urgent Emergency Care Centre (UECC) and cares for patients aged 0-16 years.
* Our Paediatric Daycase unit delivers care for elective surgical patients under the ENT, Surgical and Trauma teams.

* Has an understanding of the NMC Code and Trust Policies and Procedures relating to confidentiality.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills both verbal and nonverbal.
* Demonstrate high standards in record keeping.
* Demonstrates competent clinical practice.
* Demonstrates accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care without supervision.
* Is able to identify the psychological, social, physical and cultural needs of children and their families and acts, with guidance, to meet their needs.
* Actively prioritises and organises workload.
* Is responsible for maintaining accurate patient records.
* Works in partnership with patients and their carers in decision making, ensuring their views are taken into account.
* Has an understanding of the effective management of resources both financial and physical.
* Deliver safe, high quality and effective care.

Qualifications
* Registered Paediatric Nurse with Current NMC Registration
Knowledge and Skills
* Paediatric BLS
* willingness to undertake further clinical skills training
* PILS
* IV competency
Experience
* Experience working within an acute paediatric nursing environment
