About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer will work in a cross-functional team with the charter of building new capabilities into a structured, well-organized, and governed data platform. This team consists of engineers passionate about data, infrastructure, and about building a platform that enables engineers to work with data in an agile and effective manner.
Responsibilities
1. Designing and building the infrastructure for ingest and egress for both batch and streaming data.
2. Collaborating with teams across our business to assist them in utilizing platform components or planning new features.
3. Implementing modern development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
4. Mentoring Engineers to help grow their skills and careers.
5. Performing all parts of the lifecycle, including infrastructure build, code, deployment, QA, and monitoring.
6. Delivering high-quality features through good agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices, and supporting your team in their engineering excellence.
Requirements
* Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Aware of differences and challenges of working with both streaming data sets and more traditional data sets.
* Experience with AWS data stack (such as S3, Glue, Athena).
* Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform).
* Working SQL knowledge and experience working with several relational databases.
* Experience in Python.
