We are looking to recruit a part-time (22.5 hours) Band 3 Administration Assistant to work with the Community Continence team based at Clarendon, Hebburn, on a temporary basis.
The post holder will be one of a team of administrative support staff who provide essential administrative functions, whilst interfacing with clinical and administrative staff. The service is fast-paced and you would be expected to carry out a variety of administrative tasks.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels by telephone and in person. Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, and time management are also essential.
You should have excellent keyboard skills and a working knowledge of software packages.
Working days will be Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 8:30 - 4:30.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide an administrative service to the planned care team, supporting the provision of an efficient and effective service to patients, service users, and staff within the Department.
2. Ensure accurate and timely updating and inputting of patient details, appointments, and information into clinical record (EMIS).
3. Provide a range of administration and clerical support including those resulting from telephone calls.
4. Process supplies orders and keep an accurate record of expenditure.
5. Communicate with all appropriate staff groups and agencies as part of the service requirements in an effective and professional manner.
6. Effectively deal with telephone enquiries relaying information to the team.
7. Provide clinical information to support ongoing service development.
8. Be a key member of the multi-professional team.

Job responsibilities
1. Coordinate the scheduling processes for a directorate / number of specialties on a day-to-day basis.
2. Ensure that appropriate procedures and Trust Policies are adhered to at all times and that national standards and RTT performance targets are met.

Experience
* Vocational experience working in an NHS booking office.
* Familiar with medical terminology related to elective referrals on RTT pathways.
* Working in a customer-focused/service environment.
* IT Skills and demonstrate experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English C or above, or equivalent.
* Level 3 qualification in administration or other relevant subject or equivalent vocational experience which provides a working knowledge of:
* Prioritising patients using a waiting list.
* Basic medical terminology linked to referrals for elective patients on RTT pathway.
* Knowledge of Meditech.
* Knowledge of EMIS.
