Job Title: Technical Engineer (O365 & Azure)
Responsible to: Head of IT - Europe
Interfaces with: All PCA colleagues, Senior Management, Technical services & Suppliers.
Location: Exchange Quay, Manchester.
Main purpose: To provide the highest quality service and to exceed our client’s expectations.
Key elements: We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual with solid previous hands-on experience supporting complex Microsoft O365 & Azure environments, to join our small dynamic team in the Northwest of England.
You must be super self-motivated, driven and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, including assisting in the design and implementation of new architecture to support our financial services colleagues, technology partners and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Technical Support: Provide second and third-line support against complex technical issues, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving incidents and service requests related to financial systems and applications across our Manchester and Liverpool offices and be expected to engage with PCA colleagues globally.
Office 365 Skills:
* O365 Administration:
* User and group management (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft Entra).
* Licensing and subscriptions management including cost optimisation, and budgeting.
* Administration of Microsoft core services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive & Microsoft Purview).
* Microsoft Purview experience beneficial.
* Documentation:
* Maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and updates to ensure accurate records and knowledge share.
* Security & Compliance:
* Implementing security features (MFA, conditional access, security baselines).
* Monitoring and managing security alerts.
* Managing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and compliance tools.
* Collaboration and Communication Tools:
* Microsoft Teams management (policies, compliance, and performance).
* SharePoint Online configuration and permissions.
* Troubleshooting and Support:
* Identifying and resolving O365 issues.
* Supporting end-users with issues related to O365 tools and apps.
Azure Skills:
* Azure Administration:
* Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
* Managing hybrid identities (Azure AD Connect, AD DS).
* Configuring conditional access and identity protection.
* Role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions.
* Deploying and managing Virtual Machines (VM’s).
* Azure Resource Management:
* Deploying and managing resources using Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
* Managing subscriptions, cost optimisation, and budgeting.
* Networking:
* Configuring virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups (NSG’s).
* Managing hybrid connectivity.
* Security and Monitoring:
* Azure Security Center and Defender management.
* Implementing security baselines and alerts.
* Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights usage.
* Automation and Scripting:
* Proficiency with PowerShell and Azure CLI.
* Automating workflows using Azure Automation or Logic Apps.
* Backup and Disaster Recovery:
* Azure Backup and Site Recovery configuration.
* Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
* Cloud Governance:
* Implementing Azure policies, blueprints and compliance tools.
* Managing resource tagging and organisation for better governance.
Additional Technical Skills:
* Strong awareness / familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
* Broad experience with current operating systems (Windows 11 Pro, Linux Redhat)
* Networking, including knowledge of LAN / WAN related technologies e.g. IPv4/6, SFTP, SNMP, Hardware / Software VPN’s.
Soft Skills:
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and writing skills.
* Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
* Training / coaching end users in Microsoft best practice.
* Good leaderships skills, a self-starter with a sense of urgency and an individual whose “up for a challenge”, consistently looking to learn new technologies.
Experience:
* You will have working knowledge of Citrix ‘on prem’ and/or Citrix cloud DAS.
* Hypervisor technologies preferably VMware (Broadcom) or XenServer (Citrix)
* Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2019 and above.
* Familiar with working to achieve / maintain ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 quality and security standards.
* Project management skills beneficial.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) would be especially advantageous.
