Purpose of the role
To prepare fabric for the finishing processes and to inspect fabric prior to dispatch for customer orders. This is to ensure Camira quality standards are met and customer lead times are achieved.
The day to day
• To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
• Prepare transport woven fabric for the next finishing processes by batching schedules together, assembling like for like qualities to satisfy customer orders and meet deadlines at final inspection.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained by inspecting finished fabrics, reporting any defects to a team supervisor as soon as they are found.
• To identify faults in the fabric so customers are aware of any defects and ensure the Camira tagging procedure is followed. By doing so customers will not receive fabric which is over defect.
• Basic computer literacy to ensure fabric has complete process traceability and fabric is processed through the correct specified route.
• To check fabric for contamination and rectify as instructed, this will ensure customers received the best possible quality fabric.
Other considerations
• Able to handle rolls of fabric in excess of 20 kg
• Knowledge of fabric fault finding and experience of recognising and rectifying faults
• Experience of working in a textile environment
• Basic computer skills
