We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Team Manager in our Operational service, with responsibility for a social work team working with Children in Need and Child Protection.
You will have the necessary skills and experience to provide clear direction, support and guidance through management oversight and review at key stages of the child’s journey. You will be able to provide restorative and reflective supervision to develop and support the skills and knowledge of your team.
You will be solution focused and most importantly, want to provide high quality services which make a difference to children’s lives.
The current duty rota requires you to be the Duty Team Manager once every 5 weeks, during this week you are responsible for managing all the strategy discussions and s47 investigations during that week.
Essential requirements of this Team Manager role:
* An inspirational leader with excellent management skills and the ability to encourage team working.
* A Qualified Social Worker with significant experience in Children's Services.
* Experience of supervising or managing a team.
* Substantial experience within the court arena.
* You will require knowledge of the latest policy and guidance around children's social care and safeguarding.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity, and know how to improve services.
This is a key role within the organisation and you will need to be experienced enough to successfully provide strong and effective leadership so that you can positively influence the development of your team.
This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.

* Thorough understanding of the ‘common core’.
* Ability to demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunities.
* Awareness of effective management practices.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Social work degree.
* Current Social Work England Registration.
* Experience of managing or supporting others and assuring compliance to policy and procedures.
* Significant social work qualification experience of working with children and families in the context of current legislation and government initiatives / or minimum of two years post social work.
* Qualification experience plus significant management experience in a relevant field working with children and families.
* Experience of working under pressure and making robust evidenced informed decisions.
