We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and empowering clinical or counselling psychologist to work with Older People and those who have been diagnosed with a dementia-related condition on our inpatient wards in Rochford, Essex. We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with older people and ensuring high-quality psychological provision for this client group. We are a team that supports each other and strives to end systemic, social, and structural as well as age-related inequalities in healthcare.
This offers significant opportunities for training and development, and the post holder will be supported to gain specialist skills in working with older people in inpatient settings.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide a clinical psychology service to the older adult inpatient wards in South Essex, including:
1. Providing specialist psychological assessment and intervention on a 1:1 or group basis.
2. Conducting neuropsychological assessment and behavioural observations to promote understanding of client presentations.
3. Promoting and facilitating shared psychological conceptualisations in the multi-disciplinary team and supporting ward staff to deliver psychologically-driven interventions.
4. Providing consultancy and supervision when appropriate, identifying and delivering on training needs relating to psychological knowledge and understanding, and providing opportunities for reflective practice.
5. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research.

1. Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling psychology
