The School
A special school located in South Gloucestershire that provides outstanding support for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Autism. Provision spans both primary and secondary age groups. The school has small classes based on developmental stages and excellent facilities. It fosters a collaborative and supportive environment for both staff and students.
Role and Responsibilities
Support students in accessing lessons and engaging with learning materials.
Manage challenging behaviour calmly and patiently, fostering a safe and positive environment.
Provide support for self-regulation outside of the classroom.
Ensure pupils' safety and welfare are always prioritised.
Offer feedback to the class teacher on student progress and behaviour.
Work with students one-to-one and in small groups to facilitate personalised learning.
Help students access additional learning from external professionals.
Essential Criteria
Previous experience working in special schools or the care industry.
Strong spoken and written English skills.
High levels of resilience and the ability to use initiative.
Capacity to remain calm and supportive under pressure.
Must have access to a car.
Desirable Criteria
Teaching Assistant Qualification.
