Location: Birmingham Project: Bulk Earthworks, Groundworks, Heavy Civils Salary: £60,000 Package About the Company: We are representing a prestigious and highly decorated client in the construction industry who is seeking an experienced and skilled Site Manager to oversee earthworks, heavy civils, and remediation projects in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a high-profile project, ensuring it is delivered to the highest standards while adhering to safety regulations and schedules. Experience in remediation is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily site operations to ensure the project is progressing according to schedule and within budget. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site staff, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings to communicate project goals and safety protocols. Liaise with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve issues promptly. Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, risk assessments, and method statements. Qualifications and Experience: Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential. First Aid certification is advantageous. Proven experience as a Site Manager in earthworks or similar construction projects. Knowledge of remediation projects is advantageous but not essential (training will be provided). Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the construction industry. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate site teams effectively. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
