From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you'll direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting, through to maintenance and renewal.
Please note: You must hold SMTH and have or be working towards IRSE.
About the Role
We'll look to you to direct, organise and motivate a high performing team. From inspection and faulting through to maintenance and renewal, you'll play a hands-on role. You'll ensure everything is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a priority. You'll establish appropriate safety arrangements and ensure Network Rail staff and contractors alike follow safe systems of work. Proactively controlling and checking the quality of work and the competence of your people, you'll ensure that assets are fully compliant and all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose. Along the way, you'll compile a range of vital reports.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
2. Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
3. Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques.
4. Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions.
5. A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction.
6. Hold Safety Critical Competencies COSS CRP and PC.
7. Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
8. Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need; this may also include driving vehicles up to 7.5t and a requirement to upgrade their driving licence by undertaking additional training.
9. Hold Safety Critical Competencies Strapping, NSCD (Ops), and Engineering Supervisor.
10. MUST HAVE SMTH (Signalling Maintenance Testing) & also have or be working towards IRSE licence.
