If so, apply now, as Air Partner, leaders in aviation charter solutions, are offering a Flight Operations Coordinator Apprenticeship within our Gatwick based flight operations department.
As a member of our Customer Flight Support Team, you will learn to perform all functions required to ensure a safe and punctual schedule is delivered across the Air Partner network, whilst meeting customers’ expectations regarding reliability and punctuality.
This is a full time position within the Customer Flight Support Team and it will incorporate 20% off the job learning, along with a requirement for self-study time out of work as required. The Apprenticeship will last for a minimum of 18 months and during this period, there will be time allocated to learn other areas of the business, including Broking.
You will work closely with various departments and play a key part in the Groups round the clock Customer Flight Support department ensuring that our client consistently receive expectational service. Under the supervision of our Flight Support Supervisors, you will learn how to monitor, pre-empt and react to live daily flight operational occurrences.
Please note that this role is based on a 12 hour shift pattern of 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. You will receive a rota in advance but the usual pattern is as follows:
2 day shifts, 3 night shifts, 4 days off. Then 2 day shifts, 3 night shifts, 5 days off. Then 2 day shift, 2 night shifts, 5 days off and so on. This is subject to change by the management in line with business needs, required working time directive and consultation with staff.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to break into the air charter industry, and although we cannot guarantee a permanent role at the end of the apprenticeship, there may well be opportunities for you to consider and we can evaluate this towards the end of your tenure. This may well be the beginning of the rest of your career!
The interview process:
As part of our interview process, you will need to attend as Assessment Centre at our Gatwick office. This will be a series of assessment tasks for you to complete on the day alongside other candidates. This will be taking place on the 15th of November 2024. It is essential that you are able to attend on this day if you would like to enrol. Please also note that you will need to be available to start on 13th January 2025 .
During this apprenticeship you will learn to:
* Ensure that all clients, operators and stakeholders requests are managed and dealt with using the highest level of customer service
* Provide out of hours telephone and email management for the Air Partner group and ensuring all clients and operators are responded to professionally and promptly via all communication required channels – Telephone, Email, Messaging
* Pro-actively monitor and flight watching Air Partner group operated flights ensuring all stakeholders involved with the flight are communicated to and informed within the set departmental response times
* Support the Flight Support Supervisor with Brokering any out of hours private jet charters or ACMI requests, whilst maintaining a high service level
* Support the Flight Support Supervisor with fielding any Air Evacuation calls and, following the callout procedure, searching for suitable aircraft as required
* Pro-actively monitor weather and Eurocontrol and any other factors or issues that could affect group flights and communicating relevant detail to help manage and
* Resolve problems and issues accordingly and within the departmental set response times
* Maintain the company database of suppliers and relevant information
* Support the Flight Support Supervisor with ad-hoc tasks that will ensure the service delivery to our clients is beyond expectations
* Discover different categories of the aircraft and mission.
* Understand different type of documentation; for example, flight plans.
* Gain and understanding of basic FTL (Flight Time Limitation) and air crew rostering process.
What we are looking for:
Essential
* An enthusiastic and positive outlook
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (previously C) or higher
* Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the confidence to speak to all levels of people on the phone
* Excellent written communication skills
* Flexibility towards working 12-hour shifts that can change at short notice due to technical or weather issues and a willingness to do these shifts from the Gatwick office
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (including diary management)
* A well organised individual with a pro-active approach and an ability to work on own initiative and to specific deadlines whist remaining calm
* Someone who is confident in making decisions
* A willingness to learn and develop, including self-studying in own time
Desirable Skills
* A keen interest in aviation
* Experience of working in a team
