The post holder will provide high quality management and leadership within the antenatal clinic. They will provide clinical midwifery expertise and leadership to the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Ultrasound, Maternity Assessment Unit, and support to the Gynaecology Clinic. The post holder will act as an advocate and liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate all aspects of care in the best interests of women and their families. They will also act as an experienced mentor for less experienced midwives and student midwives, working proactively to plan the development of complex antenatal outpatient care.
Additionally, the post holder will evaluate the provision of care throughout the antenatal period for women and their families. They will have continuing responsibility for the day-to-day management of the allocated area, ensuring delivery of a high standard of care through effective management of staff and resources within the service.
